As a military Veteran and dedicated resident, I am running for Town Council to be a new voice with exciting ideas, focusing on accountability & proactive leadership. Town citizens have been frustrated regarding the lack of transparency regarding governance, the lack of research done in a variety of areas of concern, and years of efforts that have yielded no changes, very few new ideas. The current town management takes advantage of uninformed council members. Management and council members often ridicule and scoff at citizens and try to diminish any attempts to request information. Every one I speak with about the upcoming election want to see meaningful change.
The town needs to attract and retain a diversity of new businesses.
The town needs to take more effective steps to address dilapidated buildings.
As the YMCA is not easily accessible (without a car, or after 5pm or weekends when the RADAR bus does noy operate) or affordable (for a certain portion of the population), the armory and the old high school could be developed to offer evening and weekend activities.
